Lacrima di Morro d'Alba is an indigenous grape variety from the Marche region, celebrated for its rich and captivating history, with records of its presence dating back to the Middle Ages. The name "Lacrima" derives from the characteristic drop of juice ("tear") that seeps from the grape when fully ripe. The DOC designation encompasses three types of red wine (base, superiore, passito), all produced with at least 85% of grapes from this unique variety.

The production area lies among the rolling hills of Ostra and Senigallia, characterized by sandy and clayey soils at altitudes starting from 60-70 meters above sea level. The predominant North-East and South-West exposures provide ideal conditions for vine growth, thanks to a microclimate that balances sunny days with cool nights.

The palate is dry and smooth, with delicate, almost imperceptible tannins.
